As a firm, we encourage our employees and members of the community to create positive change every day — to give back to those in need and to identify and help charitable organizations through sponsorships, donations, and volunteerism.
At KSJG, we take opportunities to help others and serve our community — not only through the services we provide our clients — but also through partnerships with our not-for-profit clients.
Working Wardrobes is one of our clients and one of the charities we support. They are a top-notch organization that empowers men, women, veterans, and young adults who are overcoming difficult challenges to confidently enter the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency. They accomplish this by providing career training, job placement services, and wardrobe and grooming assistance in a compassionate environment of the highest degree of dignity, respect, and encouragement. This organization is an outstanding service to our community.
Among many other services, they provide job placement services for local residents overcoming hardships such as substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, and catastrophic illness to increase these community member's confidence and success in the workplace. One of their special events for at-risk young adults is an annual prom. The special event provides 150 at-risk high school seniors (who were specially handpicked by community leaders) with the opportunity to attend important life development workshops. These students are then given the chance to find their perfect tuxedo or dress, complete with matching shoes and accessories — all donated by community members and generous area merchants.
KSJG Audit Manager, Alex Sanchez, volunteers there. "I personally had the honor of volunteering at the prom event and am so glad that I did. To spend quality time mentoring, listening, and hopefully being a positive influence on a few of the students was priceless. I was able to get a firsthand look at the impact of Working Wardrobes. I remember working with a specific student who came into the event very shy, reserved, and completely out of his comfort zone. After personally helping him shop for his tux and going through the organization's self-improvement and confidence exercises, you could see his demeanor had completely changed. It was as if he came in the prom event lost and came out of it with a great sense of direction and purpose. It was amazing to see the transformation in him after just a few hours — and I felt blessed to be a part of it!"
Working Wardrobes is just one of a number of charities KSJG supports. Spreading goodness is always worthwhile — and it's incredibly fulfilling for us to support these organizations that do so much for our community.
